ARC is committed to providing professional development opportunities for leaders and individuals interested in furthering social impact. Throughout the year we host a myriad of panels, workshops, and virtual events.  We also welcome the opportunity to host exclusive professional development workshops for clients.

Workshop Topics

 HOW TO BUILD A THEORY OF CHANGE

A theory of change (TOC) is a practical tool that highlights why a particular way of working will be effective, showing how change happens in the short, medium and long term to achieve the intended impact. In this workshop participants will learn: (1) how to develop a TOC with multiple stakeholders (2) how a TOC model helps define and prioritize strategies needed to achieve results and (3) How to use a TOC template for evaluation and strategic planning.

INTRO TO LOGIC MODELS & EVALUATION

Logic models are effective tools to assist in program planning, implementation, management, evaluation, and reporting.  In this workshop participants will learn to: (1)  understand key terms and definitions related to logic models (2) understand the benefits of using a logic model to create an evaluation plan (3) develop a logic model that shows how inputs, activities and outputs are expected to lead to meaningful short, medium, and long-term outcomes, with the ultimate purpose in aligning data collection and analysis to critical components within the logic model. 

STRATEGIC PLANNING BASICS 

This workshop will cover the basics of strategic planning and provide participants with a framework to get your organization started in the creation of your strategic plan.

HOW TO MANAGE A TEAM FOR SOCIAL IMPACT

This workshop is designed for non-profit, social enterprise, and socially responsible business leaders who want to find out what's really getting in the way of effective teamwork and develop the skills to collaboratively solve these challenges. Participants will: (1) learn how to form teams, within and between organizations, that are positioned to achieve social impact (2) learn practices that can help your team stay on track towards achieving social impact and (3) develop skills that can be immediately put into practice in a supportive environment.

HOW TO SUCCESSFULLY LAUNCH  A NEW INITIATIVE

Launching a strategic initiative, implementing a new system or making any change requires not only addressing the underlying process issues but also planning effectively and engaging the key stakeholders in a focused and sustainable manner. In this workshop, participants will develop a roadmap and structure the implementation of the initiative leveraging the most robust change management and engagement methodologies.

LAUNCHING A SOCIAL ENTERPRISE OR NONPROFIT

This workshop is designed for individuals who are exploring the possibility of launching a nonprofit, social enterprise or socially conscious business. Participants will learn: (1)  different nonprofit social enterprise models and funding sources (2) how to create a business plan (3) key factors for launch.
